Patents pending across the evidence pipeline

ClinLexis filed its seventh patent application in June 2026. Seven inventions, each filed in both the United Kingdom and the United States. None of them covers a model: all of them cover the machinery around the model that converts model behaviour into enforced properties, validators, structural invariants, audit records and architectural separations.

The filings follow the pipeline from a scanned page to a signed report. They cover how the system reads material the scanner has damaged; what it allows into a chronology, and what it visibly excludes; how its analysis is prevented from quietly changing its mind; how a drafted report demonstrates its own completeness, and its coverage of the instructions it was given; what the in-case assistant is permitted to reason over; and how accuracy is measured without patient data ever leaving the protected environment. The detail belongs in the applications.

Courts are beginning to require exactly this kind of verifiability of AI-assisted evidence: see the Irish High Court’s new Practice Direction. Why we patented the machinery rather than a model is the subject of a longer post.
